There have been several eyewitness accounts of a new Danish at the Café!

That’s right; it’s Friday and that means you only have the weekend to stock up and this past week’s specials and sales.

Alternatively, there are VERY exciting things happening as of Monday. It’s shaping up to look like one of my favorite weeks in a while! Would you like to know why? Of COURSE you would.

First of all, there’s a clearance sale in D.I.Y. that has yet to be advertised, but the prices are already falling on the items planning to be red-light’d. Several wallpapers, flooring/carpeting, a couple windows (like the ones I have in my Front Parlour — curses!) and a rug are all on sale.  – Thanks to PS Maniac

Second of all, it looks like the coming theme is a gypsy-esque fortune-teller theme! Jeepers, I’m stoked! Van Gogh’s “Sunflowers” is potentially on that list of items, a new wig, a new flower (hibiscus), a goldfish, potions and elixirs, more WWF (World Wildlife Foundation) items, and my two fav items?  A UNICORN AND A FOX PLUSHIE. Popo was serenaded by a friend this week -- looks like everyone's in good spirits about the new theme.

I c an’t believe I’m looking forward to a Monday this much. Alright kiddos, time to start saving your pennies because this week looks like it’s gonna rock! Til then, keep playing!

Popo Pooped!

Everyone’s been all a-tizzy about elusive pet poops and I didn’t even have a chance to be nervous about this unicorn of pet bowel movements; it just happened!

I had another tab or two opened, researching something game-related undoubtedly, and I tab back and there it was! A stinky pile of poo. A little ironic that Popo was donning her fancy best that day (have you read about people going to the bathroom in period France?? Girl, it’s nasty).

Now, I’m seeing poo everywhere! I can’t visit a friend on vacation to feed their pet without nearly stepping in a steamy pile.

Popo LURVES blogs!! ...and teddy bears...

Let’s have a run-down of updates from the other blogs I frequent.

In the Official PS Forum (Playfish) they are offering up blurry images as teasers for the new items yet-to-be-released! <3

At PS Anonymous there are two briefs with resident PS hackers — Patiniox and Xavito. The first paints the portrait of elequence-in-code and the second casts a more repentant light in the face of cheating in-game.

Along the hacking & cheating vein, the beans are officially spilled, as is tradition, by our resourceful friends at PS News. The pet-drake (i.e.: “mandrake”), the bejewelled books, the crow/raven, and the lamppost are exciting me, and I can feel my purse-strings a-snappin’!

And last but definitely not least, PS World has a couple of interesting tidbits; A handy list of the clothing that has been slashed 50%, Home-grown Petdrakes, and a new Chocolate Brownie you may have missed.

A link to PS Habitue is now featured on PS World as well! Woohoo! After this was brought to my attention, I decided I’d take a look-see through the other friends and have decided to add PS Maniac to our blog links as well — this blog also seems updated frequently so lemme know what you think!

Popo, enjoying her absolute FAVORITE snack: Strawberry Milk!!

Thursday, Popo devoured a magical, golden apple to give her glitter powers, extradinaire…and they’re almost gone! I thought that these lasted for 14 days? Or is that if it’s kicking around your item bin? Or is it that I log in so many times/day that it wears off  really fast? I like the effect a lot because 1.) it’s pretty, and 2.) it’s subtle (not as subtle as the picture may lead you to believe…this effect proved incredibly difficult to photograph). In other words, SO Popo!

But I digress, the true motivation behind my post today is that it’s finally Saturday — YAY — and that means that you only have today and tomorrow to stock up on “This Week’s Specials” in all the shops!! “Oh no!” you cry. No, let me list them here briefly (if you read the other blogs, you’ve seen pics of’em plastered everywhere):

Nothing in MYSTERY/GADGET/CAFE, but in LUXURY there is a big clearance sale: Colourful Clock (1250), Playful Fish Hat (1500), Metal Bed (2500), Robot Visor (1500), Robot Pants (2000), Royal Bed (5000), Floral Hat (1500), Cutoff Shorts (1250).

What treasures will Monday unfurl for our shopping trips?? I know not. But I am content in the mystery.

Trés mode, non?

(Unpublished post from two days ago:) As you can see, I’ve finally appropriated the bed of Popo’s dreams!! This was the other day and since it has been much appreciated. I’ve worked tirelessly to decorate her bedroom and it still has more decorating to do. The front parlour, dare-I-say, is nigh on completion — I’ll be posting updates for the progress in the rooms I feel proud of/have undergone some nice redecorating on Monday (when, hopefully, I shall get to update you all on new items in the shops!).

TIP: When visiting friends, feed them juicy, inexpensive foods like pears (much more fashionable than the common apple), so that you may feed them the optimum number of times, getting +17 paw points each time!

Popo’s been visiting her friends like woah to rack up the paw points lately — we need to get that last room on the second floor!! All her grooming items (brush, rope, frisbee) are gold now, I’m happy to report. But her soap is still that adorable dusty pink heart shape. She’s clearly very exhausted;

My house is just the right size to fit my gi-normous head.

Popo has reached the level of Media Darling as of last night! I want to thank all of my neighbors for letting me into their homes and feeding their pets and also creepily bathing them. Secondly, I would like to thank all the fish in the local pond that sacrificed their lives to get me where I am today.

As you all know, today there is Dreaded M Day;

Maintenance! We are forbidden access to our lovely pets and worlds we have created for ourselves all because they’re ‘updating‘, adding ‘new‘ and exploiting ‘improved‘…but I’m sure we’ll all be singing a different, less mob-and-pitchfork tune once we see the shiny new items or fish species they have for us. All I have to say is, “IT BETTA BE GOOD!” Popo could be starving, smelling, or even worse; SAD!!

As per usual, I’ve been scrounging the intarwebz to see what interesting morsels I can find and here is one you might have seen if you frequent the Official PS Forum over at Playfish (I mean there’s a billion-pixel-tall sign announcing it, trying to divert your attentions from the note outlining today’s scheduled maintenance): What Would I Do With A Million Coins?

It’s a youtube video created by Brett Bayne (& his pet, Bubbles) for the recent birthday contest. It’s pretty funny, and it lightened my M mood so I figured I’d share it with you all who are most likely as bored as I am.

It’s probably as good a time as any to briefly gloss over the current navigation to the right, a short detailing of the links I’ve provided; PS Blogs are…blogs about PS…

The Official PS Blog is owned and operated by Playfish, of course, and it is very handy for explaining their inspiration for new items, announcing new contests, (maintenance dates…) et cetera…

PS Addict & Anonymous are affiliated with each other and the women that write them are witty and interesting.

PS Giveaways might be dead, but there was some activity in April, so I’m crossing my fingers — it looked like a fairly dynamic site.

PS News does have some affiliation with cheats and hacks, but they are often updated with new items and tips as far as buying/stocking/reselling goes…Let’s say they’re the ‘resourceful‘ bunch!

PS World is another well-managed blog that I respect very much. You can see for yourselves that it is updated often.

PS Nifty! These aren’t blogs, but are cool links and/or devices that I think might be of some use or entertainment to fans of the game!

The Official PS Forum (Playfish) is well-moderated, great for all ages, and a good bet that there’ll be heavy influx of fans during M-days; you can go there to meet friends/make neighbors for the game, ask questions, just discuss the game and have a grand old time.

PS Database (some of you may have heard it referred to by it’s url, kogaweb) is a top-notch resource of all items PS-related, whether in-store or not. If it’s existed on PS, then it’s listed here (give it some time to load, there are pics of every item as well!) and for your convenience, it’s all organized by category! The OCD in me is singing.

PS Room Previewer is something I just stumbled upon yesterday! I was reading PS World’s blog, I followed the link and was tickled pink! It’s an application to help you preview what your rooms will look like with what flooring and wallpaper combos!! This is so cool, it would’ve been soooo useful to know before I bought that dizzy “Stencilled Wallpaper” from the D.I.Y. shop (featured in Popo’s bedroom).  C’est la vie…

Another plan of action would be to play the other Playfish games. I just had the chance to play their geography game and it’s pretty fun as well. It works similarly to “Who Has the Biggest Brain?” but it’s about flags, countries and landmarks. (I’m a huge fan of cartography!!XD) Maybe now I’ll try out Country Story, a lot of fans were raving about that.

FASHION!! Calling all couture hounds and fashionistas; I’m going to be fusing a fashion editorial into this blog in the future, so when you’re trying on your purdy duds, remember to snap a photo if it looks A+, because I want all of you to submit what you think your best look(s) is(are)!

If I find something else awesome, I’ll let you all know, but short of forgetting that the game exists, today will kinda blow on some level.

First we have the flower-and-summertime-bespeckled Front Parlour:

As you can see, it looks like Martha Stewart went sakura-crazy and vomited on my front room. The pieces are nice, but there are a lot of them, I’m not sure if I want to display my trophies (ugh, they’re so mis-matched!) but I am rather proud to have them… And I’m not sure what to do with the flower pots. I love that they match the armchairs, but I feel like they need to be resting on something cute, a little elevation.

If you look out the window in the Parlour, you can see the Front Garden!:

I have a veritable orchard on the way, but nothing has developed so far. I left the very front plot of earth free to allow myself some experimentation with veggies, but I am so disheartened by the number of them that I pull up rotten, I think I have almost given up and will just plant another dern tree to shade my pretty home. I’m in love with the swing and think I need a little tent, but that might block too many trees… As you can see, I started Project: Fence over to the far left, but nothing has become of it. Sigh…

But back inside the house, there is the Dining Hall:

Which is more like a fish room. I have no dining table or candleabra, or chandelier. There’s that creepy tile on the wall, like perhaps this is where we slaughter the fish. Mais non, il n’y a pas chic ici. Alors!

Last on the ground floor is the Kitchen:

It’s a little embarrassing; Popo’s got a bit of a sweet tooth. Her fav being strawberry milk, gah! Weakness. The tile works on the wall here, and I love the white door and window, but it definitely needs one more window. And appliances, I guess. Big whoop. I’ve got 50-coin shelves!

Through the white door is the Rear Garden:

Nothin’. This is where I experiment with flower-growing (in the first two plots). This also needs a fence or pretty railing. Picnic scene or a BBQ?

Upstairs! Room one is Popo’s Bedroom:

…yeah…  The wallpaper makes me dizzy too. Ideally, I’m filling this up with the Versailles bedroom accoutrement, but I always spend my money willy-nilly and by the time I get to the Furniture shop, I’m broke. :/

I need a bathroom. I’m thinking of making the last room of the second floor another bedroom for my sister’s pet when she visits. I’m glad I don’t have them yet though, because they’d just be blank. I know I want to cram a crepe stand somewhere, however.

FANCY!

I am bound to have my pet’s domicile become a factory of style and class. It will be elite and shiny, and wonderous and fun. Perhaps I’m getting ahead of myself.

Popo is pretty. She’s got sass. But Popo doesn’t have many friends at the moment. None of mine want to succumb to the deus ex machina that is Pet Society. I know, they have no idea what they are missing, but they are good people, I promise.

I’ll soon be posting the grand tour of my domicile with hopes that there’ll be visible progress in my ever-evolving home. I encourage all of you to share ideas as well, naturally!

There is a question I can feel popping up; “MONEY!! Where do you get your money??” Like any hard-working PS-er, I visit friends’ pets like the dickens and I help to take care of them. You get coins and paw points for feeding any pets (including the Café Darlings as well — if you’re low on friends, or your friends are big on regular feedings, visit these characters.) and you get coins for washing other pets too! Hugs are quick, kind, and profitable (who doesn’t like a hug?) and you get an opportunity to leave your friends a cheerful note about how cool their diggs are or how smelly their pet was.

Pears are my favorite cheap thing to feed the Café Darlings. You almost completely earn the returns in coins PLUS you essentially saved yourself a ton of time spent on levelling up. Fishing also yeilds a lot of XP/paw points, but no  coin return — UNTIL YOU SELL THEM! The common fishies sell for 4 coins and the cheapest food item is 5 coins to purchase from the grocer. So typically you’re spending 1 coin for extra paw points. Sometimes, it’s true, you do catch garbage, but the playfish staff even made that cool by allowing you to slowly gain recycling points which you get to spend on rare items that aren’t available in the shops. I wish real-life recycling has those kind of endorsements, more people would participate! (“Return to your lonely corner at the back of my brain, Hippie Maine Self!”)

Don’t forget about the hurdles at the Stadium! (*eyeroll* the smallest parts of these pets are their legs…this conspiracy is why Popo and I always lose. Don’t try to talk sense to me about “all the pets have equal leg lengths” either.)

Like a true glutton, I want to collect absolutely everything that is available in this game, simply to have a complete set (is this the end result of growing up during the Pokémon craze? This “Gotta Catch’em All!” attitude? Thx, Japan; like Americans needed more of that.)

Another great way to earn the dinero is reselling — the Mystery Boxes of any variety, the Faerie Bubbles, and to a lesser extent the Fairytale Bubbles (I don’t know very much about those). But it’s like gambling, you buy a crapshoot; the first time I bought a Faerie Bubble (for 350 coins, mind you) and ended up with a Faerie Door which resold for 799 coins — w00t, profit! I must also add the disclaimer here that sometimes you do lose out. For instance, today I got two Faerie Headbands. While cute as sin, I certainly don’t need two of them, but it only resells for 199. Bah, humbug.
